SUSTAINABLE & RESPONSIBLE

Our impact on the environment and society counts - of course!

Where can we reduce the negative ecological impact of our company and our services? What positive contribution are we already making with our services? We deal with these questions intensively and regularly and sometimes develop completely new perspectives on our daily work.

Sustainability is more than environmental friendliness. Sustainable development satisfies people's needs without negatively impacting the ability of future generations. We find this sensible and desirable.

As an owner-managed company, we are proud of our social performance and take our responsibility very seriously. We take into account the ecological, social and economic perspectives. These are often in tension with each other: requirements arising from the individual perspectives sometimes contradict each other. This does not always make sustainable action easy in practice. We are aware of this and try to find the best possible compromises.

WORKING CONDITIONS

In the day-to-day work of a digital agency, things can get pretty chaotic. Thanks to excellent planning, proven work organization methods (SCRUM) and open and close communication with our customers, we can handle the chaos. If things do get tight, any necessary overtime is fairly remunerated. And speaking of remuneration - here, too, we are fair and above average.

We also attach great importance to a good work-life balance. That's why we offer flexible working models such as working from home or part-time by arrangement, so that our employees can reconcile their job and their individual life situation in the best possible way. In the end, everyone benefits from this.

It goes without saying that we are committed to the international frameworks and standards for the observance and protection of human rights, taking into account not only our ownemployees, but also the employees in our supply chains.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Working at the agency is a skillset booster: the continuous training and development of our employees is an integral part of our day-to-day work. We make sure that we are constantly facing new challenges in our daily work, taking into account individual interests and skills. In addition to traditional training courses at software manufacturers, coaching and on-the-job training are important building blocks for us in order to underpin new knowledge directly with practical experience - with sufficient buffer time in the projects, of course. So it never gets boring and we as a team keep getting better.

We provide training (dual training and dual study programs) and offer the opportunity to carry out scientific work or internships with us. We also offer career changers the opportunity to gain a foothold in professional life.

HEALTH

Our workplaces are ergonomically and safely equipped. For example, all employees in our offices are provided with height-adjustable desks and modern IT equipment. Our Mönchengladbach office has its own small fitness area for our employees.

We also take the protection of our employees very seriously in times of COVID-19. Of course, we comply with the legal requirements and also offer free masks and tests as well as 100% home office - if desired.

DIVERSITY

As a creative and innovative company, we thrive on the individuality of our employees. Gender, sexual identity, marital status, skin color and origin don't matter to us - we welcome diversity and our team is already a colorful mix.

What counts for us is expertise, commitment and that the bosses

mie is right. Because we all want to feel comfortable, develop together and be proud of our results.

CLIMATE PROTECTION

Working from home and online conferences are already significantly reducing ourCO2 footprint. When we do travel, we prefer to take the train. However, it is not always possible to avoid using the car, which is why all of our new vehicles have been fully electric or at least hybrid since 2021.

In our offices, we use every opportunity to save energy: Low-energy buildings with modern ventilation and shading technology. LEDs and motion detectors for our lighting, simple things like central light switches - we only use the energy that is actually needed. We use 100% green electricity for our offices and charging stations. Our data centers and cloud services are also powered by green electricity when available, which accounts for the largest share of electricity consumption.

CONSERVATION OF RESOURCES

We attach great importance to durability and a reasonable service life. We source furniture from regional craftsmen or specialist suppliers, which enables a long service life. When it comes to hardware, we pay attention to performance reserves and long update cycles, which extends the period of use and makes economic and ecological sense. We do not replace hardware based on tax considerations, but when it no longer makes sense to use it - of course, we do not compromise on performance or security.

When we no longer need good things, we don't simply dispose of them. Instead, we give away intact furniture and hardware that no longer meets the requirements of a modern digital agency to employees, schools, daycare centers, clubs and social institutions - whereby we naturally prepare hardware in compliance with data protection regulations.

DIGITIZATION IS SUSTAINABLE!

We digitize business processes. By replacing manual, often paper-based processes, our work saves resources and energy in many areas. On the other hand, the operation of systems also consumes energy and resources.

We focus on quality, data and process efficiency. This is not only noticeable in the form of time and money savings for our customers, but also in the energy consumption of the hardware. IT-related energy consumption now has a high ecological significance: it accounts for around 2% of global anthropogenic CO2 emissions, which is roughly equivalent to the CO2 emissions caused by global air traffic. For us, this means that it is not only relevant THAT we digitize processes, but also HOW we do it. This is why we are taking a closer look at our products and services and want to increasingly consider sustainability-related factors. We also see strategic potential in this responsibility. With our services, we want to contribute to making digitalization and society more sustainable! After all, many small steps will help us make lasting progress towards a fair, healthy, climate-friendly and colorful future.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Responsibility for implementing our sustainability guidelines and this declaration of principles lies with the Intentive management.

To comply with international human rights standards, national laws and Intentive'spolicies, we regularly conduct assessments to identify, evaluate and address potential and actual adverse impacts in our business activities and supply chain. If it is determined that there is a risk that our business activities are causing or contributing to adverse impacts on human rights or the environment, we have a process in place to assess, modify, discontinue and/or correct the activity. We encourage our employees, partners and third parties to report suspected violations of this policy through our whistleblower system.
